CONCORDIA, Kan. (GoNeosho.com) – The Panthers traveled to Concordia, KS on Wednesday Jan, 22nd and defeated Colby Community College 26-24 and Cloud County 24-21.
Against Colby at 133 Evan Coble (Fr. Howard, KS) started the Panthers off with a fall over Hunter Sanchez. Kasen Smith ( Fr. Gardner, KS) kept the momentum going with a fall over Jarrdarrious Goolsby at 149 followed by another fall by Hunter Jennings (So. Southern Boone, MO) over Alec Schmuck at 157. The at 174 Maleek Ayonrinde (Fr, Owings Mills, MD) won a 6-2 decision over Mouhamadou Sene and Dylan Waggerman (So. Paola, KS) won by forfeit.
In the duel against Cloud County Evan Coble (Fr. Howard, KS) won a tough 5-4 decision over Kaleb Talkington and then Caden Smith ( Fr. Gardner, KS) came up big with a fall over Daniel Vines at 141. Kasen Smith ( Fr. Gardner, KS) continued the streak with a 9-6 decision over Lukas Zodrow followed by Hunter Jennings (So. Southern Boone, MO) with an 8-5 over Jacob Vasquez. At 165 Kelton Howard (Fr. Palm Coast, FL) won by forfeit. Dylan Waggerman (So. Paola, KS) closed out the night with a 5-0 decision over Micah Cauthers.
The Panthers will see some strong competition coming up as thy host #4 Fort Hays Tech Northwest and #8 Pratt on Wed, Jan. 29th in Panther Gymnasium. Wrestling begins at 5:00 pm.
