YORK, Neb. (MacBulldogs.com) – The Bulldogs were able to make a grand return to the win column on Wednesday afternoon (Oct 23) as they completed a 2-1 comeback win against the York Panthers.
Both teams went back and forth during the early portion of the first half, but it was York that was able to take the early momentum as Sergio Bueno got the Panthers on the board first in the 29thminute to take a 1-0 lead and played stout defense to keep MC off the board and maintain that slim edge.
The comeback bid for the Bulldogs began unusually as the Panthers made a critical mistake in the 67th minute resulting in an own goal to tie the game up one goal a piece. A battle of wills ensued as both sides struggled to score the separating goal.
The deadlock was broken in the 83rd minute thanks to an Abel Reichert goal. The Bulldog defense stood strong and secured the come-from-behind victory on the road.
The Bulldogs return home for senior day on Saturday, October 26 to face Ottawa University. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
