McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs picked up their third straight win Saturday (Dec. 9), knocking off the Ottawa University Braves 93-81 inside the Sport Center. With the win, MC has now won back-to-back contests against Ottawa for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Collin Storr scored early and often for the Bulldogs (9-2, 4-2 KCAC), netting the team’s first 12 points en route to a 26-point performance. Storr also finished with seven rebounds, five on the offensive end. Jerome Mabry finished with 16 points and five rebounds, while Curtis Rose added 15 points and Antonio Watson ended with 13 points.

Owen Braxmeyer was a force on the defensive end, finishing with four steals and one block. He was also instrumental in the win, holding the KCAC’s second leading scorer, Jayden Hibbitt, to a season-low 28.6 percent shooting (4-for-14). Braxmeyer also contributed on the offensive end, finishing with a career-high nine assists, while pouring in 12 points.

The Bulldogs shot 49.3 percent (35-for-71) from the field en route to their highest point total of the season. They also finished with just 10 turnovers, their lowest since Nov. 11. MC finished with 13 steals, marking the third time this season they have eclipsed double-digits in that category.

A trey by Jamil Hardaway made it a 15-9 lead less than five minutes into the game, but the Braves fought back to grab a 29-25 advantage, capped off by a three by Payton Kaiser. Ottawa would hold a 36-35 edge at the break.

The Bulldogs scored 17 of the first 22 points coming out of halftime to grab a 52-40 lead less than five minutes into the second half. The Braves brought it to a six-point MC lead, but another 12-3 burst by the Bulldogs pushed the lead back to 70-55.

Deondre Buggage led the way for the Braves with 16 points, while Hibbitt finished with 15 points and Kamren Woods added 14 points. The Braves shot 46.7 percent from the field, and were 41.2 percent from beyond the arc.

MC will close out the fall semester Wednesday (Dec. 13) with a showdown against William Woods University at the Sport Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
