WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The McPherson College men’s basketball season came to an end Wednesday (Feb. 26) in a 102-78 loss to second-seeded Friends University at the Garvey Center in Wichita, Kan.
Curtis Rose paced the Bulldogs with 17 points and three assists, while Charles Snyder recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds, including a team-high five offensive rebounds. Collin Storr and Tarrance Austin each added 11 points.
MC shot 40.0 percent from the field but were just 23.1 percent (6-for-26) from distance. Both Jamil Hardaway and Antonio Watson finished with two treys apiece.
The Falcons made their inside presence known, scoring 44 of their 102 points in the paint. Friends was also efficient from beyond the arc, connecting on 10 triples, six coming in the second half.
The first ten minutes were a slugfest with neither team able to create separation, until the Falcons used a 15-2 burst to grab all of the momentum and take a 31-17 lead with just over five minutes to play in the half.
From there, the Falcons outscored MC 18-12 to take a 49-29 advantage into the locker room.
In the second half, it was all Friends, holding the Bulldogs at arms-length to finish off the contest.
KJ Spiller led the Falcons with 21 points and four assists, while Al Emerllahu added 17 points. Collin Maclin, Ring Deng, and Cahlese Lee each finished with 12 points.
With the loss, the Bulldogs wrap up the 2024-25 season with a 12-17 record, and were 10-12 during KCAC play.
