HILLSBORO, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – Tarrance Austin scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a team-best six offensive rebounds, but the Bulldogs fell to the Tabor College Bluejays 79-75 in Hillsboro, Kan.

Aaron Williams Jr. added 14 points and Collin Storr finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

MC finished with just two assists on 24 made baskets, and scored 22 of their 75 points from the free throw line. The Bulldogs were 22-for-31 at the charity stripe.

Points were hard to come by for the Bulldogs in the opening half, shooting just 27.8 percent from the field, and 1-for-12 from beyond the arc.

The Bulldog largest lead of the game came in the first four minutes when they jumped out to a quick 6-2 advantage, however from there, it was back and forth until the Bluejays used a 12-3 burst en route to a 34-28 halftime lead.

Things went from bad to worse, as the Bluejays maintained that momentum to open the second half, leading by as many as 14 less than two minutes into the frame. Tabor would keep the Bulldogs at arm’s length for most of the second half with the Bulldogs briefly leveling the score on the heels of a 9-2 spurt.

However, a triple by Creighton Kukula broke a 59-59 gridlock and the Bluejays never looked back.

Four Bluejays scored in double figures, led by Kam Kaniper with 24 and Kalep Crane with 23. Crane also pulled down 11 rebounds.

MC will remain on the road Saturday (Dec. 7), traveling to Leavenworth, Kan. to take on the University of Saint Mary Spires. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
