Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman, who caught the game-winning touchdown pass to win Super Bowl 58 in overtime, has signed a one-year deal to stay in KC.

Hardman was drafted by the Chiefs in the 2nd round of the 2019 draft and stayed with the Chiefs until the end of the 2022 season. He then started the 2023 season with the New York Jets before returning to KC via a midseason trade.

With the Jets, Hardman only had three targets and one reception before the trade. After re-joining the Chiefs, Mecole caught 19 passes with his lone touchdown coming on the final play of the season to win the Super Bowl in overtime.

Hardman becomes one of the few returners at the receiver spot, with the Chiefs releasing Marquez Valdes-Scantling, drafting Xavier Worthy in the first round of the 2024 draft, and signing Marquise Brown from the Arizona Cardinals.
