WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Tristan Szabo has been named the KCAC Player of the Week after leading the Bulldog to their first four-game winning streak since 2019, the league announced Monday (Sep. 30).
“Tristan had a big day,” head coach Jeremiah Fiscus said. “He really operated the offense with a level of poise, confidence, and conviction.”
Szabo had an outstanding weekend for the Bulldogs, throwing four touchdowns and rushing for one more. He completed 72 percent of his passes for 273 yards, and carried the ball five times for 30 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown run.
His first touchdown pass was a 60-yard pass to Jalil Brown, then threw a pair of touchdowns to Harley Blaske. Szabo wrapped up his with a 77-yard shot to Traven Lewis-Johnson.
Szabo and the Bulldogs will be back at McPherson Stadium to take on Kansas Wesleyan. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
