MCPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School held a signing ceremony for Jordan Sears and Tito Mendez on Wednesday, as they signed their Letter of Intent to continue their athletic career at the collegiate level.
Jordan Sears signed to play basketball at Newman University in Wichita while studying Education History. Although it was a difficult season for the Jets a year ago, Sears said, “I saw the team and the coaching to be an experienced, and good staff. I also loved the team and am excited to play for them next year.” Sears was a part of the volleyball team when she came to MHS as a junior, and along with being a member of the basketball team, she is currently a part of F.C.A.
Tito Mendez signed to play soccer for Central Christian College of Kansas. Along with being a part of the MHS Soccer team, he’s participated in Track and Cross Country, along with Swimming and Choir. He is still unsure of his field of study but noted maybe Health Science or Entrepreneurship. He said, “I’ve been around this college my whole life, and am familiar with the community. I’ve known the Men’s Head Coach for a long time, and I have a ton of respect for him and the staff.”
