Middle School Tennis vs. Wellington
The final score in the dual was 16-2 with McPherson winning.
“Today was a great start to our tennis season. The girls played through their initial nervousness and competed hard all afternoon long, said Coach Paul Reichenberger. “This team has the potential to be special.”
8th Grade Volleyball at Hays
A Team
Lost to Hays: 10-25, 22-25
Lost to Great Bend: 19-25, 19-25
“The Bullpups faced some steep competition today at Hays. We served very well, but passed the ball inconsistently, said Coach Christine Pianalto. “The girls fought hard to earn a few rallies in each game but couldn’t get past strong serving and hitting from both Hays and Great Bend.”
B Team
Lost to Hays: 13-25, 12-25
Lost to Great Bend: 18-25, 14-25
“We faced two strong teams today. Our serves were better against Hays but when the ball came back over to our side, we didn’t communicate well,” said Coach Tami Malm. “We communicated and passed better against Great Bend but just couldn’t get over the hump. The girls showed some great hustle in our second match but we were just too inconsistent all the way around. “
Next up: A Home Dual with Haysville. The Bullpups are inviting fans to support their “CAN you DIG it” initiative to collect canned goods for the McPherson County Food Bank. Fans who bring a nonperishable food item will receive a $1 discount at the gate.
