— McPHERSON COLLEGE ATHLETICS RELEASE —

McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs women’s bowling squad announced the tournament schedule for their inaugural season Monday (July 29).

“I am beyond excited about the first season of Women’s Bowling at McPherson College,” head coach Mitchell Whitehead said.  “In just six months we have been blessed to assemble a roster of excellent young women that have chosen to join the Bulldog Family. Our roster is full of women that bring plenty of talent on the lanes, but what excites me the most is the strong character and positive energy they will bring to our campus.”

Whitehead and the Bulldogs will host Barton County Community College for a scrimmage on Oct. 3rd taking place at Starlite Lanes. The scrimmage will begin at 3:00 p.m. and inaugural season t-shirts will be available for the first 25 fans in attendance. This will be the only time throughout the season where you can catch the Bulldogs in action at home.

The Bulldogs will kick off the regular season at the Mid-States Championship, hosted by Wichita State and Newman University. Competition will take place at Bowlero Northridge in Wichita on October 19th and 20th.

MC will make stops at the Jayhawk Challenge in Lawrence, Kan. and the Bronco Open in Hastings, Neb., before traveling to Las Vegas for the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Open and the Collegiate Shootout.

After the New Year, the Bulldogs will travel to Illinois for the ISBPA Midwest Classic, before a weekend in Belton, Mo., for a pair of tournaments hosted by KCAC member Avila University.

The Bulldogs will round out the regular season back in Lawrence, Kan. at Royal Crest Lanes the first weekend of February for the NAIA West Weekend 1 and 2 events.

The KCAC Championship is scheduled for Feb. 21-22, while the NAIA Championships are slated for Mar. 20-22 in Sterling Heights, Mich.

MC is the fifth KCAC member school to add women’s bowling in addition to Avila, Ottawa, Kansas Wesleyan, and Saint Mary.  Morningside, Hastings, and Midland round out the conference as associate members.
