McPherson Area Schools Compete in Early Season Track Meet

McPHERSON, Kan. – High schools in McPherson County competed at McPherson High School Thursday, April 3 for the McPherson County Early Season meet.

The meet was held at McPherson High School and featured McPherson, Smoky Valley, Hesston, Elyria Christian, and Little River High School. McPherson Middle School also competed in events with their own teams.

The yearly meet is a way to showcase the track & field teams in McPherson County in a friendly competition. Team scores are normally not kept as it is also a way for the athletes to compete in a meet setting before taking on larger meets.

“It is always great to have our county schools together on one track showcasing the great talent in our local communities,” McPherson High School Head Track & Field Coach John Montgomery said. “As with any track meet, we had some tremendous performances, and also opportunities to learn and grow.”
