Larks Take Down Greyhounds with Big Second Half

FORT SCOTT, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s basketball won their second straight conference matchup with a hard-fought 96–88 victory over Fort Scott Community College on Saturday (Jan. 22). Despite trailing 40–37 at halftime, Hesston surged in the second half with 59 points to claim the win. With the win, the Larks moved to 8-9 overall and 2-2 in the KJCCC.

John Probey led the charge for Hesston with 35 points, shooting 12-of-17 from the field and 8-of-13 from the free-throw line. He was supported by Terryon Stebbins, who notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while also contributing four steals and two blocks. Ky Kougl added 12 points, including two three-pointers, and Trent Thompson chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds.

The Larks dominated the boards, out-rebounding Fort Scott 45–29, including 10 offensive rebounds that led to crucial second-chance opportunities. They also showcased efficiency from the free-throw line, converting 80% of their attempts (24-of-30).

The Larks will be back at home on Saturday (Jan. 25) as they host Kansas City Kansas Community College at 3 p.m.
