BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (SCWarriors.com) – In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the Sterling College Lady Warriors claimed a decisive victory against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles with a final score of 81-70 on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Mueller Sports Center.
The game saw a strong start from both teams, but it was the Sterling Lady Warriors who found themselves slightly trailing at halftime with a score of 35-37. The turning point came in the third quarter, where Sterling outscored their opponents 24-14, seizing control of the game and shifting the momentum squarely to their side. This pivotal quarter set the stage for their ultimate victory, showcasing not just skill, but also critical strategic execution.
Key performances were noted from Korynn Clason, who led the scoring with 26 points, complemented by seven rebounds and two steals. Kali Briar and McKenna Vogl each added 13 points to the team’s total. Vogl and Alissa Heskamp led the Warriors defensively with three steals each.
Alex Bearup came off the bench to contribute 10 points and also led Sterling in assists with two. Their collective efforts were pivotal in overcoming the halftime deficit and steering the team towards victory.
The team’s record now stands at an impressive 16-9 overall, with a 12-7 record in conference play.
