LINDSBORG, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Swedes hosted the Friends University Falcons, Saturday, January 18th in Hahn Gymnasium. The Swedes came into the contest 7-4 while the Falcons were 9-2. What seemed like it was going to be a close finish, instead turned into a double-digit loss for the Swedes.
Bethany struggled out of the gate to contain the Falcons’ offense and found themselves in a 10-point deficient heading into the second quarter, 12-22. From there the Swedes found some footing and kept the Falcons within a manageable lead but were still down by double digits going into halftime, 27-40. Bethany came back from the break ready to dig their heels in and get to work. The Swedes held Friends to only 10 points in the third quarter while scoring 21 for themselves. Only down by two, Bethany tried to replicate their success from the 3rd quarter but the Falcons adjusted and ran away with it in the beginning of the 4th quarter. Friends quickly extended their lead back to double digits, holding the Swedes to only 9 points in the final quarter. The final score was 57-81 in favor of the Falcons.
