LINDSBORG, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Swedes hosted the McPherson College Bulldogs on Wednesday, February 5th in Hahn Gymnasium on Pink Night. The Swedes were coming off of a weekend win over Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
The Swedes came out ready to put in the work, outscoring the Bulldogs in three out of the four quarters. Bethany outscored McPherson by ten in the first quarter, 20-10, shooting 44% from the field. The Swedes continued to improve their efficiency and shot 46% in the second quarter and grew their lead to eighteen going into the break, 40-22. But it didn’t stop there, Bethany came out of halftime and shot 56% in the third quarter and increased their lead to 24 points as they neared the end of the game, 63-39. Fourth quarter started and the Swedes found a comfortable rhythm to finish out the game. Final score was 73-54, the Swedes won by 19 points.
Notable stats include, Janae Black-Harmon with a double-double, 14 rebounds, 12 points, and 3 steals, Jaden Newfarmer with 6 rebounds, 16 points, and 4 assists, and Emily Green with 4 assists and 4 steals.
