KU Volleyball’s Turner Named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KUAthletics.com) – Camryn Turner of Kansas Volleyball was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week after her impressive weekend in the Jayhawk Classic.

Turner helped propel the Jayhawks to a 2-1 weekend, highlighted by the takedown of No. 6 Purdue in four sets, where she tied her career-high number of assists with 59 total. The senior out of Topeka, Kansas surpassed 3,000 career assists with her efforts, also adding 30 assists in a 3-0 victory over Tulsa and 28 in the team’s loss to then-No. 9 Creighton.

Turner posted double-doubles in all three matches during the week including 28 assists with 10 digs against now-No. 6 Creighton.

The reigning Big 12 Setter of the Year is currently leading the conference in assists per set with 11.39, which puts her at No. 3 in the entirety of NCAA Division I.

Turner and the rest of the Jayhawks will be taking on the UCF Knights on Wednesday, September 25 at 6 p.m. in the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena. This match will be broadcast on ESPNU.
