LAWRENCE, Kan. (KUAthletics.com) – For the second straight season, Kansas graduate guard Dajuan Harris Jr. has been named to the 20-member Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Watch List, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Monday.

Harris is looking to become the second Jayhawk to win the Bob Cousy Award joining Frank Mason III, the 2017 recipient. Last season Harris advanced to the Bob Cousy Award Midseason Top 10 list.

A three-time All-Big 12 selection and three-time Big 12 All-Defensive Team honoree, Harris was the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Columbia, Missouri native has started each of the last three seasons, including the 2022 NCAA National Championship team. Harris ranks fourth on the KU career assists list with 676 and sixth on career steals with 215 and he is one of just four all-time Jayhawks to have 600 assists and 200 steals (Aaron Miles, Kirk Hinrich, Darnell Valentine). Harris led the Big 12 in assist-to-turnover ratio in 2022 and 2023.

Harris is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection who graduated from KU in May 2023 with a liberal arts & science degree and is pursuing a master’s degree in sport management. In 2024 he was a CSC Academic All-District honoree in 2023, which qualified him for Academic All-America.

The annual Bob Cousy Award, named after the Class of 1971 Hall of Famer and former Boston Celtic and Holy Cross guard, celebrates its 22nd year by highlighting the top point guard in Division I men’s college basketball.

Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in each of the three rounds starting on Friday, November 1. In late January, the watch list of 20 players for the 2025 Bob Cousy will be narrowed to 10, and then in late February, to just five. In March, the five finalists will be presented to Cousy, Lieberman, and the Hall of Fame’s selection committees, where winners will be selected. The Selection Committees for the Bob Cousy Award are composed of top college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.

The winners of the 2025 Cousy Award will be presented on a to-be-determined date, along with the four other members of the Men’s Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Jerry West Award (Shooting Guard), Julius Erving Award (Small Forward), Karl Malone Award (Power Forward), and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Center).
