Area high schools will be competing in the Kansas State High School Activities Association Regionals this weekend in wrestling. 4A and 3-2-1A are split into four regional meets with the top four wrestlers in each weight class qualifying for State. All of the tournaments for those two classes for area teams will be one-day meets on Saturday, February 22. The 5A schools are split into east and west regions with the top eight wrestlers in each weight class heading to State. Area teams will compete on the west side in Newton and that will be a two-day tournament, Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22.
