LAWRENCE, Kan. (KUAthletics.com) – The Kansas Volleyball team was ranked No. 13 in the first AVCA poll of the season, the organization announced on Monday.
The team ended the 2023 season with a final AVCA ranking of 17 after their season came to a close in the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Jayhawks spent the entire season in the AVCA Top 25, looking to build off of that pattern for a second-consecutive season.
The Jayhawks were recently picked as the favorite in the 2024 Big 12 Preseason Poll, leading the way with six first place votes and 173 total points. Kansas also had the most individual award winners, with Camryn Turner, Ayah Elnady and London Davis on the All-Big 12 Preseason Team and Zoey Burgess as the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year.
The Jayhawks will open up their season with an exhibition match against Drake this Saturday, August 24, at 1 p.m. at home in Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.
