Kansas Falls to No. 10 Texas Tech in Allen Fieldhouse Saturday, 78-73

LAWRENCE, Kan. (KUAthletics.com) – Despite 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for KJ Adams, the Jayhawks came up short against No. 10 Texas Tech, falling 78-73 on Saturday.

It was the second win at Allen Fieldhouse (2-22) in the school’s history.

Christian Anderson had 15 points and Darrion Williams scored 14 for Texas Tech (22-7, 13-5 Big 12).

Adams had 21 points for the Jayhawks (19-10, 10-8), who had multiple runs of at least six points. Dajuan Harris Jr. tied Mitch Lightfoot (2017-22) for the most games played at Kansas with 168. Harris also became the program’s all-time leader in minutes played now with 4,976 for his career, passing Danny Manning (4,961, 1985-88).

“We did some things well but we didn’t guard the arc well,” said Kansas head coach Bill Self. “That was the difference in the game.”

The Red Raiders used a 16-2 run early in the half to turn a six-point deficit into an eight-point lead. They led 48-37 at halftime.
