FORT SCOTT, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College women’s basketball team fell to Fort Scott Community College 82-50 on Wednesday (Jan. 22). The Larks fell to 3-14 overall and 1-3 in the KJCCC.
The game opened with a strong first-quarter performance from Fort Scott, leading 20-9. While Hesston fought back in the second quarter, outscoring Fort Scott 20-14, they trailed 34-29 at halftime. Fort Scott regained momentum in the second half, dominating both the third and fourth quarters, with scores of 21-10 and 27-11, respectively.
Key contributors for Hesston included Akiva Brown, who led the team with 15 points and added three rebounds, and Mariah Hall, who contributed nine points, one rebound, and three assists. Zenobia French-Love also played a solid game, scoring six points and securing five rebounds.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday as they host Kansas City Kansas Community College at 1 p.m.
