IOLA, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College women’s basketball team fell to Allen County Community College 64-38 on Wednesday (January 15).
Allen County’s defense was formidable, forcing 29 turnovers and limiting Hesston’s shooting to just 22.4% from the field. Hesston struggled offensively, particularly in the first and fourth quarters, scoring only six and four points, respectively.
Bright spots for Hesston included Brittany Cato, who led the team with 15 points, hitting four three-pointers and adding five rebounds. Akiva Brown contributed 8 points and 4 rebounds.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday (January 18) as they host Labette Community College at 1 p.m. for their conference home opener.
