Hesston Men’s Basketball Drops Close Battle at Allen

IOLA, Kan. (HCLarks.com) – The Hesston College men’s basketball team narrowly fell to Allen County Community College on Wednesday (January 15), 63-61. Despite trailing 36-29 at halftime, the Larks mounted an impressive comeback in the second half, scoring 32 points and briefly taking the lead late in the game, but a few crucial possessions in the final minutes by the Red Devils led them to victory. The Larks fall to 6-9 overall and 0-2 in the KJCCC.

Jammial Hicks led the charge with an outstanding performance, recording 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists. He was supported by strong contributions from John Probey, who added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Terryon Stebbins, who grabbed nine rebounds while chipping in five points.

The Larks showcased their defensive prowess, tallying nine steals and three blocks while holding a slight edge in rebounding, 46-44. Their offensive effort was highlighted by 13 second-chance points, thanks to 13 offensive rebounds.

The Larks will play at home for the first time this month on Saturday (January 18) as they host Labette Community College for their KJCCC home opener at 3 p.m.
