Guzman and Morales Earn KCAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors

WICHITA, Kan. — Ruben Guzman of Sterling College and Anthony Morales of Evangel University have earned this week’s KCAC Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Sept. 18-24 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Offensive Player of the Week

Ruben Guzman – Sterling College

5-10 | So. | MF | Delicias, Mexico

Guzman carried the Warrior offense this week. He scored 67% of the Warrior’s goals this week. In both games, Sterling came from behind, and in both games, he had the game-tying and game-winning goals. He was productive on the defensive midfield side as well, regaining possession for the Warriors with timely tackles. Sterling went 2-0 this week and remains undefeated in conference play.
Defensive Player of the Week

Anthony Morales – Evangel University

6-0 | Sr. | GK | Crestview, Fla.

Morales had an exceptional week in goal, as the Valor went 1-0-1 against conference opponents this week. Morales shut out both Friends and Bethany, recording 15 total saves on the week.
