GREAT BEND, Kan. – As the Great Bend Bat Cats begin their seventh season as an integral part of the Jayhawk League, they are excited to announce that they are the recipient of $10,000 in donations from the 100+ People That Care of Barton County. Playing at Al Burns Memorial Field, the Bat Cats offer free family fun all summer long and are gearing up for facility improvements to improve the fan experience.
President and General Manager, Roger Ward, shared that steps will be added to the larger grand stand at the field, as well as railing, so that it is easier and safer for fans to navigate getting to their seating destination. They also hope to provide between-inning games for fans to enjoy, add finishing touches to the new concession stand, add digital signage and informational areas, and audio equipment for the press box. An on-field microphone for the National Anthem is also an area of need, and performers are always needed and can apply on their website!
