HUTCHINSON, Kan. (bluedragonsports.com) — Midfielder Kaitlyn Edwards scored a season-high five points in a shutout victory over Seward County and the Hutchinson Community College freshman was named the Jayhawk Conference’s Division I Women’s Soccer Player of the Week on Tuesday.
The freshman from Wichita, had two goals and one assist in the now-No. 16 Blue Dragons’ 5-0 KJCCC victory over Seward County on Saturday at the Salthawk Sports Complex. She earned her first career game-winning goal. It was her second multi-goal game of the season.
The Blue Dragons went 1-0-1 last week with a scoreless draw at Garden City and the five-goal win over the Saints.
Hutchinson travels to Dodge City on Wednesday and will play Crowder and NOC-Enid on Saturday and Sunday in Enid, Oklahoma.
