HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 2023 Jayhawk Conference champion Hutchinson Community College softball team is the No. 1 seed for the Region VI Tournament, which begins at Legends Park in Dodge City.
The No. 14-ranked Blue Dragons (41-6) open the eight-team, double-elimination tournament at 1 p.m. on Friday against eighth-seeded Pratt (5-43). Fourth-seeded Barton (29-20) and fifth-seeded Garden City (22-31) are on Hutchinson’s side of the bracket.
Tickets for the tournament can be purchased in advance on the Region VI Softball page provided on Dodge City Community College’s website at www.conqs.com. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 each day of the tournament at the gate. The tournament committee is not allowing pets to be brought to Legends Park for the duration of the tournament.
All games of the Region VI Tournament will be streamed live on the KJCCC Network. All games will be pay-per-view. Fans will be able to find the links to Hutchinson’s games on the Watch/Listen section of BlueDragonSports.com, on the Region VI Softball page at conqs.com and on KJCCC.org.
Last season, the Blue Dragons finished third in the Region VI Tournament. Hutchinson is looking to win its first Region VI championship since 1987.
