HAYS, Kan. (CCCTigers.com) – The Cross Country team traveled to Fort Hays State to compete at the Tiger Open on Friday morning. The 7 team invitational saw the Fort Hays Tigers win both the men’s and the women’s races.
Chloe Clevenger led the women with a 27th place finish running the 6th fastest time in Tiger Cross Country history with a time of 21:37, followed by Payton Rice who placed 31st with a time of 23:17, good enough for 14th all-time in the Tiger record books.
Dalton Clark was the Tigers top finisher in his 1st race in a Central uniform placing 46th with a time of 26:26 over the 4 mile course, and he was followed up by Philip Soclo who was 49th (28:38).
The Cross Country Team competes next at the Allen Firestarter Classic on September 28th in Iola, KS at the Cedarbrook Golf Course. Women race at 10:30am followed by the men at 11.
