Bullpup Girls Bowling Places 5th, Boys 7th in AVCTL Meet

WICHITA, Kan. – The McPherson High School Boys & Girls Bowling teams traveled to Wichita Friday, Feb. 21 for the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League (AVCTL) meet, ending with the girls team finishing in 5th place and the boys in 7th. Each team had up to six individuals bowl three games and the teams bowling four baker games.

FULL RESULTS

The Bullpup girls had an impressive day Friday, led by Brooke Henry placing in fourth overall out of 46 total bowlers with a combined score of 497. Buhler’s Brayla Johnson was the individual champion with 527. McPherson finished with a combined score of 1980, placing in 5th out of eight schools. Andale won the AVCTL title, only outplaying Buhler by 43 points.

The McPherson boys finished in 7th place out of nine schools with a combined score of 2732. Their leading bowler was Jace Godwin with a score of 547, placing 18th individually. Rayce Stiggins placed just two spots behind Godwin with 541. Buhler and Mulvane each finished with 3228 to lead the AVCTL meet, but Buhler won the title via tiebreaker.

The teams will look to punch their ticket to state in the 4-1A Regionals meet Wednesday, Feb. 26 in Hutchinson. The State Championships will be at Bowlero Northrock in Wichita on March 6.
