McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Baseball entered Tuesday’s season finale in 5th place in the 4A West Regional standings, needing two wins and a little help from Hoisington to get the opportunity to host Regionals. The Bullpups ended up sweeping Andale 7-4 and 8-0, locking them in 4th place in the Regional standings, earning them the opportunity to host Regionals for the 4th year in a row.
GAME ONE: W 7-4
The game started off with an Andale offensive onslaught, giving them a 3-0 lead after the top of the 1st inning. McPherson would try to claw back scoring one run in the 1st as well.
The 3rd inning was a key inning for the Bullpups, scoring four runs. Cade Strathman would drive home two runs on a single and an error, tying the game at 3. Then, Brendan Doile and Owen Fetsch would drive home runs as well, giving McPherson a 5-3 lead.
The Bullpups tacked on two more runs, winning 7-4. Logan Beede pitched his first career complete game, throwing all seven innings, allowing 4 runs and striking out 4 batters.

Pitching was on point for the Bullpups, allowing just one hit by Andale and pitching a shutout. Offensively, the Bullpups drove home 4 early runs and drove home four more insurance runs late, led by Owen Fetsch who had 2 RBI’s.
Fetsch also started on the mound for the Pups, allowing no hits in four innings and striking out four. Jase Fitzmorris and Cade Strathman closed it out on the mound, giving the Bullpups their 6th shutout win of the season.
