McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson High School varsity baseball team is still undefeated on the 2025 season through the first two weeks of the season, earning two more run-rule victories against Chanute 16-1 in game one and 15-0 in game two.

Offense continues to be a big plus for the experienced Bullpups, getting nine hits and drawing six walks on the four-inning game. The team only had one extra-base-hit on the game and only one player had multiple hits for the Bullpups.
Logan Beede was the starting pitcher, throwing four innings, allowing just three hits, and striking out five batters.

The Bullpups carried over into game two, adding to their hit totals with 13. The team only drew three walks, but they ended up hitting more for extra bases, hitting two doubles and a triple. Ian Razak started on the mound for the second doubleheader in a row, allowing just one base hit in four innings.

The Bullpups scored in all eight innings on offense, adding on to their stellar offense. After eight games, the team’s batting average is .477. They have also had 64 free bases (45 walks and 19 hits-by-pitch) while striking out only 22 times. The baserunning has been stellar as well, stealing 40 bases while getting caught only once.
The pitching has been incredible as well for McPherson. The team has only allowed two earned runs in 36 innings, putting their ERA at 0.389. In those 36 innings, the Bullpup throwers have struck out 39 batters and allowed only 20 free passes (11 walks, nine HBP).
McPherson is now 8-0 on the season. The team will be on the road Monday, April 7 at Andale. The doubleheader will begin at 4:00 p.m. The games will broadcast on stream only on Ad Astra Sports 1 due to coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship on 98.9/1540 KMCP.
