Bullpup Baseball Moves to 5-2 After Splitting at Circle

TOWANDA, Kan. – Just one day after splitting against Hutchinson at Riverfront Stadium, the Bullpup baseball team traveled to Towanda for a double-header against Circle, taking game one 9-6 but falling in game two 4-0.


GAME ONE

McPherson 9, Circle 6

After a scoreless first two innings, the Bullpups scored three in the top of the 3rd following three hits. The T-Birds struck back with a Landon Haines two-run home run, making it 3-2. McPherson would score six late runs while preventing a comeback effort from Circle, winning 9-6.

GAME TWO

McPherson 0, Circle 4

Game two featured a pitchers duel between two star returners, Landon Haines for Circle and Ian Razak for McPherson. The game turned into a defensive slugfest, except for a three-run bottom 5th for Circle. Both teams finished with five hits, but nobody would come across the plate for McPherson, shutting them out for the first time this season.
