CRETE, Neb. (MacBulldogs.com) – McPherson College was on the wrong end of the scoreboard as they fell to the Doane Tigers on Saturday night (Sep 7), 5-0.
The Bulldogs were only able to record a pair of shots on goal throughout the entirety of the contest. Both were recorded by Caitlin Buendia. Elizabeth Scheuerman made her third start as the goalkeeper for MC. She played the entire 90 minutes and was able to collect five saves on the day.
Savannah Franzoy was the leading lady for the Tigers, scoring a hat-trick on the day. Hayle Brodine and Emma Jenkins scored the other two goals for Doane. Virginia Johnson started in goal for the Tigers and made a pair of saves en route to her first win on the year.
The Bulldogs are back home for their next matchup on Tuesday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. as they take on their cross-town rivals in Central Christian College in the first ever matchup in the McPherson Collegiate Cup.
