McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs fell in a 3-1 decision Sunday (Sep. 1) to the Mount Marty University Lancers at McPherson Stadium, home of Paul Family Field.
Caitlin Buendia put the Bulldogs on top early in the first half, scoring in the 15th minute from Gracie Speltz. That goal was her third of the season.
However, from there, it was all Lancers scoring once in the first half before a pair of second frame goals gave them the win. Yanisa Hall leveled the score in the 38th minute, then Sydney Wear and Alessandra Lopez.
The Bulldogs finished with 11 shots, including nine on target, while the Lancers were efficient, scoring on three of their four shots on goal. Buendia paced the Bulldogs with five shots on goal.
MC will be back in action Saturday (Sep. 7) when they travel to Crete, Neb., to take on Doane University. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 p.m.
