Bulldogs Women’s Basketball Falls on the Road to Friends

WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The McPherson College Bulldogs dropped a KCAC matchup Saturday afternoon (Dec. 14) to the Friends University Falcons 83-52 inside the Garvey Center in Wichita, Kan.

MC came out hot in the opening quarter, leading by as many as six before taking a 20-16 advantage after the first ten minutes. However, the Falcons opened the second quarter with a 13-0 burst to take control, and never looked back. Friends outscored MC 17-6 in the second quarter to lead 33-26 at the break.

From there, it was all Falcons, shooting 46.3 percent from the field, and 54.5 percent from beyond the arc in the second half.

Kennedy Smith led the Bulldogs with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Gillian Rodgers added 10 points and five rebounds. Jayla Moore recorded a season-high four assists.

On the other side, four Falcons finished in double digits led by Taylor Jackson with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Abigail Barr added 16 points and 15 rebounds.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Jan. 4, after a few weeks off, playing host to Evangel University inside Holman Fieldhouse. Tipoff is scheduled for noon.
