McPHERSON, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — The McPherson College Bulldogs picked up another KCAC sweep Saturday (Oct. 5) this time over the Friends University Falcons inside the Sport Center.
The opening set was back and forth until late when the Bulldogs scored four of the final six points, including kills by Daniela Jimenez, Luisina Sandrone, and Raegan Murphy.
MC carried that momentum into the second frame with a huge 14-3. Kills by Enya Fierens and Sandrone sandwiched around a pair of aces by Brook McHale helped the Bulldogs race out to a 5-1 lead. An error by the Bulldogs briefly halted the run, but MC answered with the next nine points, including four service aces from Celestina Retumban. The Bulldogs finished it off to win 25-8 and take a commanding 2-0 lead.
In the third set, again it was a big run by the Bulldogs that put them on top early. MC scored eight of the first eleven points, then powered their way to 25-12 set win.
Sandrone led the Bulldogs with nine kills, while McHale added seven kills and Zoe Fernandez finished with six kills. Raegan Murphy had a team-high 16 assists, and Katelyn Brogan added 13 assists.
MC is back inside the Sport Center Wednesday Oct. 9 to take on Bethel College, starting at 7:00 p.m.
