YORK, Neb. (MacBulldogs.com) – The Bulldogs were unable to recover from a slow third quarter as they fell to the York University Panthers on Wednesday night (Jan. 8), 78-59.

It was an action packed first half as both the Bulldogs and the Panthers shot the lights out. McPherson ended off the first half shooting 60% from the field and 45% from the three point while the Panthers shot a scorching 61% from the field while also hitting 42% of their three point shots. While both teams were able to light it up it was the Panthers that held the lead for nearly the entire contest, only trailing by a single point at the 8:45 mark of the first quarter. Once they regained the lead, they never surrendered it and took a 46-37 lead into halftime.

Coming out of the locker rooms, the Panthers stayed steady on offense as they maintained a shooting percentage above 40% from inside and outside the three point line in the third quarter of play. It was a completely different story for the Bulldogs, who were only able to hit one shot in their 18 total attempts and ended the quarter scoring just three points. A solid fourth quarter was not enough to dig the Bulldogs out of the hole that was dug, as they dropped their 15th straight contest.

Jayla Moore led the scoring for MC, dropping 10 points along with four rebounds and three assists. Nikola Boris hit a trio of three pointers as she finished the game with nine points.

The Bulldogs will head to Winfield as they match up with the Southwestern College Moundbuilders for the 2nd time his season on Saturday, January 11. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
