WICHITA, Kan. (macbulldogs.com)— Four members of the McPherson College softball team have been named All-KCAC Honorable Mention, the league announced Tuesday (May 2).
“I have enjoyed coaching this group of girls this year,” head coach Abby Bolton said. “I am happy for them to receive some All-KCAC honors.”
Lauren Skinner, a native of Fate, Texas, also received a Gold Glove for her outstanding play in the field. Skinner finished the season with a batting average of .343 and swiped seven bases.
Tatyana Alvarado led the team in several categories, including batting average (.351), doubles (8), and stolen bases (16). She also finished with 12 RBIs, one triple, and one home run.
Mackenzie Egan drove in 13 runs for the Bulldogs, with eight doubles, a triple, and a home run. She finished the regular season with a .287 batting average and an on-base percentage of .331.
Lacy Weaver led the Bulldogs with 19 RBIs while batting .339. She was second on the team with 38 hits, including a team-best three triples.
The Bulldogs open the KCAC postseason tournament on Wednesday (May 3) at noon in Great Bend, Kan., as they square off against second-seeded Friends University.
