LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The McPherson College men’s cross country team took part in the Spire Sunset Showdown Friday evening at the season-opening meet.
Coach Tracy Jex‘s team was led by redshirt-junior Brock Lauer’s 70th-place finish. Lauer recorded a time of 28:52.64 in the 8k event.
Junior Cody Kuss notched a time of 30:03.84, which was good for 83rd.
Seniors Isaac Hale and Parker Roberts were neck-and-neck. Hale took 97th while Peters was 98th. Roberts recorded a time of 32:34.66 while Peters garnered a mark of 32:36.38.
St. Mary won the meet with 25 points. Kansas Wesleyan (48 points) and Benedictine (104 points) were second and third, respectively. McPherson College did not record a team score.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Old Glory Gallup in Grand Prairie, Texas. The race is slated to begin at 9:15 a.m.
