HUTCHINSON, KAN. (Tuesday, Dec. 17) – Buhler Swimming and Diving continued its strong start to the season on Tuesday, capturing a win at the Hutchinson Invitational. Buhler’s 535 points was 199 points better than second place Garden City with 336 points.
The team finished first or second in 10 events and eclipsed the 500-point mark for just the second time in school history.
Hudson DeWeese snagged two of Buhler’s wins, touching the wall first in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. He won the 500 by nearly 30 seconds in posting a state considered time of 5:38.
In the 50 freestyle, Jonah Gardner shaved two hundredths off his personal best time and finished second.
DeWeese and Gardner also contributed to team wins in the medley and 400 free relays. Both relays earned season best times.
In four meets this season, Buhler has finished no worse than fourth. The Crusaders will have some time off before competition resumes on January 9th.
