Buhler 68, El Dorado 6
El Dorado, KAN. – Buhler was a perfect nine-for-nine on scoring drives in Friday’s 68-6 win at El Dorado. The Crusaders set records for the most points scored and the largest margin of victory in the series against the Wildcats.
Starting at quarterback in place of the injured Brendan Scripsick, Asher Zachary threw for 73 yards and two touchdowns.
“He did a good job,” Head Coach Steve Warner said. “He showed a lot of composure and ran the offense well.”
Running backs Max Harmony and Dylan Scripsick combined for 183 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. The pair have developed into a nice one-two punch.
“I like the way they both run, they’re running hard,” Warner said. “They both are blocking well too.”
Buhler’s Black Night defense held El Dorado’s offense to just 22 total yards in the first half and 106 for the game. The group forced four turnovers, including a pick-six by Jacob Miller in the second quarter.
Buhler (4-2) will play its final regular season road game at Winfield (4-2) this Friday.
