Buhler Boys Swimming and Diving Continues Record Setting Season with First Place Finish at Wichita Heights Meet

BUHLER, Kan. – With just three meets left before the league meet on Feb. 11th, the achievements continue to pile up for Buhler boys swimming and diving. The Crusaders won their third meet this season last Thursday at Wichita Heights.

B Medley Relay – Logan Schmidt, Jonah Gardner, Payton Frees, and Henry Trumpp (3rd)

200 Freestyle – Spencer Hines (2nd), Mitchel Cross (4th), William Trumpp (7th)

200 IM – Isaak Neighbor (5th)

50 Freestyle – Dawson Banning (5th)

100 Butterfly – Spencer Hines (1st), Calvin Shank (3rd), Payton Frees (4th)

100 Freestyle – Ben Helus (1st), Hudson DeWeese (2nd), Dawson Banning (6th)

500 Freestyle – William Trumpp (1st), Mitchel Cross (3rd), Jesse Goertzen (6th)

The school record in the 100 Breaststroke was broken three times during the meet, with Calvin Shank finally swimming a 1:14.63.

So far this season, a handful of Buhler athletes/relays have posted state qualifying times, with several others in consideration.

The boys are back in the pool for the Derby Invitational, held at Campus High School, on Tuesday, Jan. 17th.
