Buhler Basketball Starts Triple-Header Week with Sweep at Rose Hill, Boys Win in Double OT

ROSE HILL, Kan. – Buhler boys basketball snapped a 10-game losing streak Tuesday night, downing Rose Hill on the road in double-overtime, 52-50. They played much of the contest without leading scorer Mitchell McDaniel who exited in the first quarter following an injury.

After leading early, 4-2, Buhler trailed until late in the third quarter when a Jacob Miller layup put his team in front, 34-32. Miller finished tied for team-high honors with 13 points. Isaiah Heredia also finished with 13 points to go along with seven assists and four steals.

It was Heredia who found the ball in his hands with under 10-seconds left in the second overtime. The sophomore guard drew a foul on a drive to the basket and then calmly sank two free throws to seal the victory.

Rose Hill’s Copper Nace was impressive, leading all scorers with 32 points, going 10 of 13 from the free throw line.

Buhler girls 44, Rose Hill 29 – Following a slow start, Buhler girls basketball poured in 18 points in the second quarter to race away from Rose Hill and win by double-digits. The victory was their third in the last four games.

Natalya Krafels had her best offensive outing of the season, scoring in multiple ways. She tallied 14 points and nine rebounds. Makenna Siemens hit a pair of clutch second quarter three’s and finished with six points.

Buhler will host Mulvane in a make-up contest Thursday Night at Jim Baker Fieldhouse.
