HILLSBORO, Kan. (TaborBluejays.com) – Saturday marked the first action of 2025 inside Tabor College Gymnasium as Tabor Men’s Basketball played host to Ottawa University. The Bluejays were in search of their first win of the new year, coming off losses to Bethany and Kansas Wesleyan. Ottawa entered the contest fresh off a disappointing loss to Friends on Wednesday.

Tabor trailed by eight points at the half, sticking tight with Ottawa and continuing to stay within reach. The Braves pushed the lead out in the second half, but Tabor kept chipping away, finding holes in the defense.

Kalep Crane led the team in scoring, pouring in 20 points, while Jackson Baer emerged as a major scoring threat in just his third game of the season, adding 12 points of his own. James Shoenfelt (12) and Kreeland Avery (11) rounded out the team in double figures.

Langston Taylor led the team on the glass, pulling down seven boards, while Avery grabbed two steals.

The Bluejays are back in action on Wednesday as they host Bethel College at 8pm.
