LINDSBORG, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – Devin Spencer as earned this week’s KCAC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honors the conference office announced Monday. Spencer was selected for his performances from January 13 to 19 by a vote of conference sports information directors.
Spencer continued to show that his defensive IQ is one of the best in the NAIA, averaging a NAIA-high 3.5 steals per game so far this season. This week, Spencer has averaged 5.3 steals per game against some of the top teams in the KCAC standings. He has also been active on the boards, pulling in 4.3 rebounds per game on the week.
Devin Spencer is the first Swede this season to earn weekly honors. He is also the first men’s basketball player from Bethany College to earn weekly recognition since Justin Brookens won Offensive Player of the Week honors November 14, 2022.
