LINDSBORG, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – Bethany College hosted the Bethel College Threshers in their conference opener, Wednesday, September 25th , where the Swedes fell 0-3.
Set 1: The Swedes had a solid start in set 1. They fell behind by two or three points until the 9-11 mark where the Threshers broke through and went on a scoring run. Bethany was now behind 9-17 to Bethel who continued to push points and maintain their lead. Final score of the set was 12-25 in favor of the Threshers.
Set 2: The Swedes came out strong once again and this time held a three-point lead over Bethel at 8-5. The Threshers managed to tie up the set at 10-10. From there it was all Bethel who dictated the tempo and speed of the game. The Threshers took set 2, 25-17.
Set 3: Final set of the night would start off rough for the Swedes who found themselves in a five-point deficient at 4-9. As Bethany would chip away at the Threshers’ lead, Bethel would sideout and take the momentum right back. The Threshers finished set 3, 25-15.
