KANSAS CITY, Mo. (macbulldogs.com) — The accolades continue to roll in for McPherson College junior Michael Beltran after being selected to the NAIA All-American second team following an outstanding season.
Beltran was a first-team All-KCAC pick after posting a 9-1 record against conference opponents and a 15-7 mark overall. He also finished 15-6 in doubles along with partner Martin Millos. The pair went 8-1 against conference opponents.
The Madrid native was instrumental in the Bulldogs’ postseason run that saw them win their eighth-consecutive KCAC tournament title. Beltran avenged his lone KCAC singles loss with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Milan Bucek in the semifinal, then helped win the doubles point in the championship match with a 6-2 victory.
He kept it rolling into the NAIA National Tournament, going toe-to-toe with the top-ranked player in the NAIA, winning the first set 7-5 before falling in set two.
