BUHLER, Kan. — Congratulations to Ad Astra Radio’s Athlete of the Week for (12/22-12/28) Hudson DeWeese, junior Crusader on the swim team.
The week – DeWeese continued his strong opening month at the Hutchinson Invitational. DeWeese won a pair of individual events, including the 500-yard freestyle by nearly 30 seconds, and the 200 freestyle. DeWeese also was a part of two winning relay teams, including the 400-medley relay and the 200-freestyle relay, which earned a season-best time.
The season – DeWeese, a junior, is off to a strong start this season. He is a part of all three relay teams, including the 200 freestyle, that have qualified for the state meet. DeWeese has also qualified for three individual events – the 200 individual medley, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. He has also earned state consideration time in the 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Overall, DeWeese has won seven events this season.
