CUNNINGHAM, Kan. — Congratulations to Ad Astra Radio’s Athlete of the Week (11/24 – 11/30) Will Wegerer, senior quarterback for Cunningham High School.
The week: Wegerer had another monster game, as the quarterback completed 13 of 19 passes for 209 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers. Wegerer also ran the ball six times for 21 yards and two more touchdowns. All together, Wegerer accounted for 230 yards of offense and had a hand in all six Cunningham touchdowns in a 54-6 win over Tescott in the Six-player state semifinals on Friday in Cunningham.
The season: Wegerer, a senior, is one of the best players in six-player football. He has completed 77 of 106 passes for 1,302 yards and 29 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He is also the Wildcats’ leading rusher, having rushed 19 times for 328 yards and eight touchdowns.
