McPHERSON, Kan. — Each week, Ad Astra Radio recognizes different athlete’s outstanding achievements. Congratulations to the Athlete of the Week for the week of 10/13-10/19, McPherson High School junior, Caleb Muehler!
The week: Muehler competed in the deep and talented El Dorado Invitational on Saturday at El Dorado State Park. Muehler continued his strong season by placing second in the 5,000-meter race in a time of 16 minutes, 9.4 seconds. Muehler’s performance led McPherson to a second-place team finish.
The season: Muehler, a junior, is following up his state championship campaign with another strong season. He won the Newton Invitational by five seconds on Oct. 5, and also took third in the Crimson Division at the Rim Rock Farm Classic on Sept. 28. Muehler also has second-place finishes at meets in Hutchinson, Wamego and Great Bend.
